**Art at the Airport

The City of Morgantown Arts & Cultural Development Department is launching a new partnership with the Morgantown Art Association and the Morgantown Municipal Airport to showcase local artists’ works in the airport terminal.

The Art at the Airport program will present local artists’ work in an exhibition at the airport terminal near the gate and baggage claim areas. Along with showcasing artwork, there will be opportunities for the artists to sell their work if desired. The Morgantown Art Association will coordinate in selecting artists and rotating the exhibition throughout the year.

“It’s great that we can support local artists and provide a space where they can showcase and sell their artwork while enhancing the airport experience for travelers,” said Vincent Kitch, Director of Arts & Cultural Development.

2021 Exhibit 60 Juror’s Comments:

Thank you to the leadership of the Morgantown Art Association for inviting me to judge the 2021 Exhibit 60 show. It is an unenviable task to select award winning paintings in a show with such a depth and breadth of artistic styles, mediums and skill level. It is a show for members to be proud of and I’m very pleased that all submitted works are included in the show so viewers will see exactly what I mean. Enjoy the show!
Mick McAndrews

**EDDIE SPAGHETTI PRINTING CLASS

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 27th at MAA The Gallery

Linocut is a printmaking technique, a variant of woodcut in which a sheet of linoleum is used for a relief printing surface. A design is cut into the linoleum surface with a sharp knife or V-shaped chisel. The linoleum sheet is inked with a roller (called a brayer), and then impressed onto paper. The actual printing can be done by hand or with a printing press.
