All Member Show Take-In
September 30, 2026, 10 AM to 4 PM.

All paintings, drawings, and photographs, must be submitted in suitable frames,
labeled properly, and wired for hanging. Drawings, watercolors, and photographs must be properly matted and under glass or plexiglass. Maximum size is 3 feet by 4 feet or a total perimeter of 14 feet. Non-wall art must be suitably prepared for display. Any entry that is too heavy for one person to handle must be placed by the artist. Please note that we reserve the right to reject any artwork that does not meet our quality standards. Janet Nunn Watercolor Workshop
October 5-8, 2026  
Cost $294.25 for members
Join us for a three-day workshop painting with liquid watercolors.  The first two days, we will work on paintings using some different tools.  Using a basting brush, wax paper, and other tools to create texture for the paintings.  The last day will be a combination of watercolor techniques on watercolor note cards and small books.  A workshop full of fun and new ways to paint.

Monongalia Arts Center: A Creative Journey Through West Virginia
September 7 - 11,  10 am - 4 pm
Working from Morgantown as our creative base, we’ll paint on location and in the studio, drawing inspiration from the university city and the wider landscapes, architecture, and culture of West Virginia. Using sketchbooks, watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, color, and texture, participants will develop a personal response to place while exploring contemporary painting techniques.
Three days on location
● Morgantown – people, architecture and university life
● Coopers Rock State Forest – landscape and atmosphere
● Cheat Lake or Mason-Dixon Historical Park – water, light and natural forms
Two days at MonArts
● Expressive drawing and painting from live performance - e.g group of musicians or dance/performers one before and one after lunch.  
● Developing sketches into finished paintings
The workshop will conclude with a Saturday exhibition and reception showcasing participants’ work, alongside a small exhibition of Anna Martin’s paintings, creating a celebration of creativity and an opportunity to raise funds for Mon Arts Center.

Volunteer Information
Become a gallery volunteer! Training for volunteers is held every Thursday during open studio times. Other times can be arranged if needed.

Our June show is for Miniatures!  
June Miniature Show (Maximum sizes: 5 x 7 art in an 8 x 10 frame). Take-in will be Wednesday, June 3, 2026, in the Gallery from 10 AM to 4 PM. The maximum number of entries per artist is five items. The Entry Fee is $2.00/item. Please fill out the entry form for each item before arriving at the Gallery.  If possible, please have exact change. Our miniature show has always been a success so get out your little art treasures and bring them in for all to see.

Upcoming Events!

67TH ANNUAL EXHIBIT 60 RECEPTION
The Morgantown Art Association's 66th Exhibit 60 champions the work of artwork created by artists within a 60-mile radius of Morgantown. The show opened April 2, 2026, and will run through June 2, 2026.

The reception for the Exhibit 60, where awards will be announced is on Sunday, April 19, 4-5:30pm at MAA Gallery. Come to meet other local artists and celebrate our award winners.

Drawing with Tone and Value Class Taught by Diane Parker

Explore a more natural way of rendering charcoal, graphite and soft pastel drawings with Artist Diane Parker. Building on the foundation of Chairoscuro and following the strong foundational teachings of William L. Maughan, Diane will help you “unlearn” common line drawing mistakes and replace them with tonal values, emphasizing light and shadows. You learn how to “see” in a wholly new way and master lost and found edges that will take your drawing to a higher level. This class will also help your painting practice improve. No prior professional experience is needed. This will be an interactive, learn by doing class.  

Saturday April 18  -  9:00 - 1:00 at the MAA Gallery  -  $37.45 (includes tax)
Supplies: Will be furnished. You may bring any of your supplies should you wish.
