KAPPA TAU
WHAT IS KAPPA TAU?
Kappa Tau is a daytime interest group for any MAA member who wants to both learn and socialize with other artists. We have monthly meetings with different activities, such as demonstrations, workshops, plein-air events, field trips, and speakers. Sometimes we also have a potluck or brown bag luncheon after the meeting. The meetings are hosted by a volunteer who chooses the location and time. The meetings can be at the Gallery, the host's home, or another venue. Kappa Tau does not charge any dues, although there may be a small fee to cover artistic materials. If you are interested in hosting a Kappa Tau meeting, please contact Becky Turton, the Kappa Tau coordinator, or leave a message at the Gallery.

PREVIOUS KAPPA TAU EVENTS
KAPPA TAU - APRIL 24, 2025
There’s something strangely irresistible about sidewalk crack art — once you start, it’s hard to stop! Think of it like coloring sheets with a twist: you get to decide what the image is. Is that jagged line a dragon’s tail? A mountain range? Maybe a bird in flight? The possibilities are endless, and the only limit is your imagination. Cindy O’Brien brought this quirky and creative activity to life at April’s Kappa Tau gathering on Thursday, April 24. She shared a collection of cracked sidewalk images printed on paper, each one practically begging to be transformed into something wild, weird, or whimsical. If you missed it, don’t worry—sidewalks are everywhere. Grab a sketchbook, go for a walk, and see what those cracks are trying to say! |
